Join CSI

Thank you for your interest in joining The Canadian Society for Immunology. CSI offers five classes of membership that supports those in all stages of their careers.

Benefits of becoming a Member of CSI

Connect with the Canadian Immunology community: CSI membership links you to a vibrant network of colleagues at all career stages and includes discounted registration for our annual spring meetings.

Access Awards: For trainee members of the CSI, we offer travel awards that allow graduate students, post-doctoral fellows to attend the annual CSI meetings, as well as the International Congress of Immunology meetings. Full CSI members are also eligible to be nominated for new investigator travel awards as well as career achievement awards recognizing excellence in research, service and mentorship.

Support Advocacy: The CSI lobbies for Immunology research funding in Canada, in part through its membership in Research Canada – the more members we have in the CSI, the stronger our voice!  The CSI acts as a liaison between membership and national funding agencies, such as the CIHR Institute of Infection and Immunity (III).  CSI is also supporting multiple initiatives to promote equity, diversity and inclusiveness within our community.

Create Collaborations: The CSI works with organizations such as the International Union of Immunological Societies, the American Association of Immunologists and the Federation of Clinical Immunology Societies to create collaborative opportunities to link scientists and trainees across the wide scope of our discipline.

Discounts for publication in BSI journals: CSI members are eligible for a 25% discount on article processing charges (APC) to publish Open Access in the British Society for Immunology (BSI)’s long-standing hybrid journal Clinical & Experimental Immunology, as well as a 15% APC discount to publish in their fully Open Access journals Immunotherapy Advances and Discovery Immunology. BSI journals offer a home for papers on a wide range of immunological topics, excellent author services, fast turnaround times, and a commitment to promote published articles through their marketing team. To benefit from these exclusive offers, CSI members will need to include the email address that is registered to their CSI account during the manuscript submission process, as well as their first and last names. This will enable the BSI to verify CSI membership and apply the appropriate discount. If you have any questions about this process, please contact the BSI editorial office at journals@immunology.org.
