CSI-ICI 2025 Travel Award Applications - Now Open

The CSI - ICI 2025 travel awards are available every third year and open to CSI members who will be attending the IUIS ICI meeting. This year's meeting will take place from August 17 - 22, 2025 in Vienna, Austria. CSI will award Student/Postdoctoral awards and Junior Investigator Awards. A maximum of one travel award in each category will be given per laboratory. These awards are based on funds generated when the International Congress of Immunology was held in Canada (1986 and 2003).

In order to be eligible to apply you must meet the following criteria:

Student and Postdoctoral Travel Awards ($1,500/ea):

To be eligible for an award the student or postdoctoral fellow must be a current member of the CSI. In addition, their supervisor (unless the supervisor's lab is not in Canada) must hold a CSI membership for the two most recent consecutive years (2025 and 2024). Student or postdoctoral fellows must complete the online Travel Award application, upload a details page with the abstract that has been submitted to the ICI meeting on which they are first author. Additionally, have their supervisor send a letter of support to info@csi-sci.ca. A lab can only receive one award.

Your online application will require the following:

  • completed online application information
  • Details page (max 2pgs) which should include: publications, honours & awards and other activities (no links to external sites such as Pubmed, Google, etc.)
  • abstract that was submitted to ICI 2025
  • upload Details page, abstract submission receipt from IUIS and abstract as one PDF file with online application

NOTE: Documents that do not adhere to the format may not be evaluated at the same level.

The deadline to apply is February 10, 2025. Results will be announced by March 31, 2025.

For example, a researcher who took six months for parental leave would benefit from a 12 month extension of their eligibility. Additionally, you must be a member of CSI and held a membership for the two most recent consecutive years (2025 and 2024).

In addition to the following requirements:

  • You cannot currently hold funds from CSI to attend the IUIS 2025 meeting
